There are millions of pasta recipes online and particularly on TikTok, but this may be the only one you need.
It’s called the Million Dollar Spaghetti and it’s a hybrid of a pasta dish, casserole and lasagne.
The dish also seems to be a mix of creamy white sauce and a traditional red pasta sauce, which has divided TikTokers – some are calling it “mediocre” and others have gone as far to declare it “life-changing”.

A quick bout of internet research on “Million Dollar Spaghetti” reveals most mentions of the elusive recipe are from this past year, and the oldest recipe under this name seems to be from 2017.
However, some TikTok viewers claim their parents have been making this for decades.
So, here is how you make the viral Million Dollar Spaghetti:
500g ground beef
1 small onion (finely diced)
1 green capsicum (finely diced)
1 teaspoon onion powder
4 cloves garlic (minced)
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes (optional)
500g spaghetti (cooked to al dente)
2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 jar marinara sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups shredded parmesan cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat the oven to 175°C and begin cooking your spaghetti.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef, onion, capsicum, cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
Cook the beef through and make sure the veggies have softened.
Stir in the marinara sauce and reduce the heat to low, simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the meat sauce simmers, make the alfredo sauce. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat then add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in the heavy cream, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook until the cheese has melted and the sauce thickens.
Add your cooked spaghetti into the alfredo sauce and stir until combined.
Pour this mixture into your prepared baking dish.
Top with your red sauce.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the top.
Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
(Optional) Garnish with dried parsley and serve.
